My Certifications

It’s common for people to ask you what degree did you major in or which school did you attend, but as a personal trainer, I haven’t had anyone asked me what certifications have I got. Well, maybe just one or two persons over the course of 8 years as a personal trainer!

The truth is that a certification is not going to make you a great trainer. Anyone can just fork out a few hundred dollars and become a ‘certified’ trainer over a weekend course. While a trainer who has attained many certifications is definitely better than one without, I have come across some individuals who are not certified, but are more ‘qualified’ than many trainers with tons of certifications.

It really comes down to the thirst for learning and it is not limited to certifications. It can range from self-learning, informal mentoring to on-the-job training.

There are tons of certifications in the fitness industry. I can’t comment on every certification out there, but if you were to do your research, some certifications are of higher standards and totally worth your investment, but just like anything else, there are not-so-good ones around.

KSI Coach Certification
Ok, I know it shows level 1 – it was taken back in 2011! Since then, I have attended level 4 in the KSI coaching program.
